Comparison
EXAGEN compared
EXAGEN is the direct successor to asepticaPRO. The table shows how the two products differ.
How does EXAGEN differ from asepticaPRO?
| Property | asepticaPRO | EXAGEN |
|---|---|---|
| Activation | Required (external step) | No (in situ) |
| Handling | More involved | Simpler, one work step fewer |
| Rinsing after treatment | Not required | Required |
Why EXAGEN must be rinsed out. The two components of EXAGEN, chlorine dioxide and chlorine, are each permitted individually in drinking water under the German Drinking Water Ordinance (Trinkwasserverordnung), but not as a mixture.
The differences in brief
EXAGEN needs no activation step, is temperature-stable up to 80 °C according to the label and has a shelf life of two years from the date of purchase. Unlike with asepticaPRO, the system must be flushed after treatment.
biostream® asepticaPRO remains described on biostream.de.
